Monday, 3 May 2010 - First Day at School at EC San Diego
Today was our first school day.
We got up at 07.30 and had breakfast. Soon after, we walked from our hostfamily's house to the school. It took us about 30 minutes. The weather was terrific, it couldn't be better.
At school, our ID cards were checked by two staff members. After this, a nice guy (whose name I've forgotten...) from the school gave us a tour around La Jolla and showed us quite a few important stores like the post office and the pharmacy.
After that, we had to take an entry test. Later, we had to talk with a person about English.
At midday, the school officials did presentation for the new students. We learned everything about the coming two weeks. We got a lot of documents and of course all the school books. After this presentation, we had lunch which was offered by the school: sandwiches and something to drink.
There was no school in the afternoon. What a life! I walked with my friends through the town and we visited some stores. Later we walked home and went to our hostmother's pool where we relaxed and enjoyed the warm weather. We were still pretty much jet-lagged and therefore more or less ready to hit the sack.
We had spaghettis for dinner. It was a beautiful nice day! La Jolla, San Diego, watch out! Here we are! The Swiss girls are ready to have fun!
